Trusville Sports Complex


 

A lot to do in compact twisty, 5 mile ride in the heart of Trussville. Chances are this trail has something for everyone: heart pumping climbs, slick rocks, knarley roots, obstacle crossings, even skinny bridges; all 20 minutes from Birmingham right off I-59. In July 2008, BUMP built the Wisteria Valley (aka Yellow Ball Trail) and Big Mountain

 

Description: Approximately 4 miles of trails with more in-progress.

Skill Level: Intermediate. The trail interspersed with some technical sections.

The race course consists of 4 trails around the perimeter and through the sports complex for a total of about 4 miles of single-track and double-track trails.   If run in the clockwise direction, the trails run in order of the Skillet Trail, the Dead Dog Trail, the Big Mountain Loop and the Pump House Trail.

Variations: Work is under way to expand the trails. 

Directions to Start:
  • From Birmingham take I-59 to Exit 141 northeast of the city.
  • Go east on Chalkville Road for about 0.9 miles.
  • Left onto Oak St.
  • Through first stop sign.

Parking:  Race Parking is on the right about 1/8 mile from the park entrance. (Note: Parking is allowed nearly anywhere within the complex.)
